Barbara Ormond
and LaDonna Baron met accidentally
in 2002, and discovered they both
had the same passions, and the same
dream - to create a world class
quilt shop and art gallery in
downtown Burns.
They bought the
old Masonic Hall building when the
hardware store closed, hoping to
create their dream, and revitalize
downtown Burns at the same time.
They refurbished the building with
the help from an economic
development grant. The store opened
in March of 2003.
Both Barbara
and LaDonna started sewing and
quilting as children and never lost
their love for the craft. Their
dream has come to life in downtown
Burns, and continues to grow. They
buy their supplies and materials
from most of the major vendors, such
as E. E. Shank, Moda, Troy, PB
Textiles, etc.,
and they have over 3,000 bolts of
fabric in inventory.
Country Lane
Quilts now have quilts shipped to us
for quilting from California,
Washington and Idaho.
